How to know if you have ADHD as an adult

The difference between self-recognition, screening, and a physician-led ADHD evaluation in India.

Educational only. This article is not personal medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. For individual care, speak with a licensed physician.

Search trends and social media have made ADHD language common. That can be helpful—it names experiences people have hidden for years. It can also be misleading when a few relatable videos are treated as diagnosis.

Three layers: recognition, screening, evaluation

  • Recognition: "This sounds like me"—a reason to explore further, not a conclusion
  • Screening: questionnaires (e.g. ASRS-style tools) that flag patterns for clinical follow-up
  • Evaluation: physician-led history, collateral where possible, overlap review, and a documented plan

When to seek evaluation

Consider a structured evaluation when symptoms persist across months, affect work or relationships, and do not fully explain themselves with sleep, stress, or mood alone. Request a call if you want help deciding whether Amcare India's pathway fits your situation.
